Neurological Problems

Multiple sclerosis

We have a defined criteria that patients need to meet to be able to access this treatment. Stem cells usually reside in low numbers in the bone marrow. We can increase the numbers of stem cells and encourage them to come out into the blood through a process called mobilization. The next step is to harvest your stem cell which will be processed at a specialist laboratory.

Stroke​

A stroke is a life-threatening condition where the blood supply is cut off from the brain. As with any organ, your brain needs oxygen and other nutrients carried in the blood to survive. Your brain cells can die if the blood supply stops. This can cause significant damage, affecting the way you think, feel and communicate.

Movement Disorders

Movement disorders is a range of neurological presentation associated with abnormal body movement. This include Parkinson disease, Essentialtremors, and other degenerative diseases with abnormal movement presentation.Causes are multi-factorial including degenerative, autoimmune, and heridatery.

Cognitive Disorders

Cognitive disorders or neurocognitive disorders are a category of mental health disorders that mainly affect cognitive abilities including learning, memory, perception, and problem solving. Example of cognitive disorders include dementia like Alzheimer's dementia, Lewy body dementia, fronto-temporal dementia, prion related dementia, and vascular dementia. Dementia and cognitive disorders etiologies are multifactorial including genetic predisposition, infectious, autoimmune, and abnormal protein deposition in the brain among other causes.

Epilpesy​

Epilepsy is a general term for seizures (uncontrollable shaking and jerking) that start in the brain. Around 1 in 200 adults are affected by this condition. Epilepsy can be caused by stroke, head injuries and brain tumors. In other cases, it simply runs in the family. If you're concerned you have epilepsy, we can help diagnose and treat it.

Neuromuscular Disorders

Neuromuscular diseases include multiple presentationsincluding weakness, gait difficulty, double vision, pain, numbness, difficulty swallowingamong many other symptoms. The disease include Myasthenia Gravis, Musculardystrophy, Lambert Eaton Syndrome, ALS, Charcot-Marie-Tooth as clinical presentation.Causes could include infectious, auto-immune and paraneoplastic among others.

Headache

Headaches are a based on clinical symptoms. Occasionally headaches mightrequire imaging including MRI brain, MRA brain, CT brain, and CTA head. In cases of suspected increased intracranial pressure, severe cases like meningitis or subarachnoidhemorrhage, an LP might be warranted. Headaches can be due to multiple reasons.Different types of headaches include tension, migraine, and cluster headaches.
